About Your School Nurse:

My name is (Zeina) Omisola Ari and I am both a Denver native and a GW alumna. I have undergraduate degrees from Spelman College and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and recently completed a Master's Degree in Public Health. I am also certified as a transcultural (culturally responsive nurse). One of the things that I love so much about George is the rich diversity of its students; and my imperative as the school nurse is to truly honor the wide range of all of my students' cultural, socioeconomic, political, ethnic, gendered and sexual identities and realities while taking excellent care of them and attending to their physical, emotional and mental health needs.

I am thrilled to be at George Washington and DELTA high schools five days a week because it allows me to be an active and engaged member of this school community.

Role of the School Nurse

Virtual Office Hours

During remote learning, I will have standing health office hours Monday, Wednesday and Friday (see health office information for hours). I urge students to "come see me" and check in during that time for any acute health issues or concerns or need some social and emotional support. If necessary, I will communicate to teachers about any virtual absences or health needs.
